Thanks to the Twitter Group on the Social Marketing Central, I have found three very cool, related social tools.
Let’s start with Twitter:
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (or “tweets”; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via short message service, instant messaging, or a third-party application such as Twitterrific.
I joined up the other day and have been “playing” with the service. With the group of people I have been “following” on Twitter, I’ve decided that this resource is a very neat way to let people know about sites or services of interest. It’s also a nice way to see what others are doing and to let them know what you’re doing.
Twitter can be used via a number of interfaces including IM, Website and Mobile Phone. The Mobile Phone option is pretty cool because you can post Tweets whilst standing in queue, waiting for a bus etc etc etc.

The next cool little tool, for use with Twitter, is TwitterFox
TwitterFox is a Firefox Add-On that provides an IM like interface to monitor and post Tweets. It makes life a lot simpler than regularly checking the website all the time or dealing with messages on the mobile.

The last related tool is a RSS feed from your blog to your Twitter account. What a great way to get your blog posts out there. Called TwitterFeed, it relies on OpenIDs and will simply parse your blogs RSS Feed to your Twitter account. Find out more about TwitterFeed here.
