ShareThis! Social BookMarking Made Easy
Web 2.0 February 25th, 2008
In my search to make my blog easy on the eyes and simple to use, I went in search of a Plug-In that would let my visitors “syndicate” my posts through the various Social Bookmarking services.
The plug-in I used initially gave me links to a heap of social bookmarking services, but looked remarkable untidy on each post. There was just too much.
Then I obtained Web 2.0 Wealth and in the prepackaged templates provided, was a neat little Plug-In called ShareThis!
ShareThis is a tool that puts a single icon on your blog posts, or your website, and allows visitors to bookmark to 10 different bookmarking sites. The tool also has a SEND function which uses AIM, EMail, SMS or MySpace to share the post.
It is also remarkably easy to install on your WordPress Blog. It comes as a Plug-In which will add the icon at the beginning or the end of your posts, or you can integrate into your template (like I have done). ShareThis also comes in a Blogger and TypePad Plug-In.
One final addition with the ShareThis tool is the toolbar addon which allows you to bookmark your favourite sites simply.

Generally, whatever takes my fancy. However, I try to discuss the topics that I see around me at the time.
