The Great Twitter and SEO Experiment (Day 1)

Blogging, Internet Marketing, Twitter, Web 2.0 April 18th, 2008

Today, I set up my new blog to test the effect of Twitter on Search Engine Rankings.

Just a quick recap - there has been discussion amongst a group of colleagues that suggests that Tweeting your links will help raise their rank in Googles Search Engine. This is on the premise that your Tweet (which contains your URL) will appear on all of your followers status pages, the more links to your site, the higher your Search Engine Ranking. PODCAST: Diane Corriette helping Women Develop Online Businesses

Diane Corriette, Internet Marketing, Interviews, Social Marketing, Web 2.0 April 16th, 2008

Today, I had the privilege of interviewing Diane Corriette from the Womens Internetwork Marketing Alliance. Diane had so much to share with us. Please listen to the PodCast and enjoy the interview.

About Diane Corriette
dianecmay07white1.jpgDiane Corriette is a mother of 3 living in London England who has been self employed for the last 11 years. Two and a half years ago a back injury meant she could not work, which meant no income. Her insurance company refused to pay out and Diane was left wondering how to create an income for herself. A CD on making money online was the thing that started her career and she has spent the last two and a half years developing her business with the help of mentors. Now she runs the women internet marketers alliance, a trio of businesses established to support women who market their business online. Her aim is to raise the online visibility of women using an online magazine and provide women marketers with a space to learn, share, connect and network.

New Social Networks Offers 80% Of Advertising Revenue to Members - Are You One?

Social Marketing, Video, Web 2.0 March 29th, 2008

Social Networking is definitely the flavour of 2008 so far. With networks like ning.com offering you the opportunity to setup your own network, we are seeing an explosion of sites. Which is great - you get to network with like minded people, share information and hopefully grow your business.

I was invited to join a new Social Network the other day, which I did just out of curiosity. I like to feel and see something before I made a final decision. What I discovered was ZenZuu. Marketed as the upcoming social network, Zenzuu is giving 80% of its Global Advertising Revenue, to its members. A unique proposition.

Social Networkers - Beware, the sad tale of a FaceBooker perhaps?

Social Marketing March 17th, 2008

I’ve just read about a FaceBooker who has had their facebook account erased because of too many incoming friend requests.

Listen to the interview and see what you think.

However, it is a lesson for us all - social networking sites are for socialising predominantly, not business…..

Read about the FaceBookers experience here and then listen to the interview.

A Family Twist on Social Networking

Internet Marketing March 9th, 2008

I joined FaceBook because one of my friends invited to. I really have no affinity with FaceBook and am slowly working out how to use it and what to do with it.

I like the fact that I can interact with my friends, send them gifts or even poke them to see if they’re still there. I like some of the applications as well. I’m raising my own pet dragon (being a real Anne McCaffrey fan, this is great).

How Can You Release a Product in 1 hour?

Internet Marketing March 1st, 2008

Will I see you at the World Internet Summit in Sydney in March 2008?

I am just so excited about this opportunity. I “put it out there” last year that I would attend a World Internet Summit (or similar) in 2008. I had no idea how I would do this, the airfares to the US were enough to make me go white, let alone accommodation and food. Then I got the news last week that my two major contracts were being terminated.
