I am slowly expanding my connections and have finally organised most of my connections here. If you are on any of these networks, please feel free to add me to your community list and add your community names on a comment to this post.

Recently, I have been receiving messages from people I follow thanking me for following them and then encouraging me to visit their website. I was wondering how this is achieved, then I found TweetLater. A neat little application that allows you to schedule your tweets, for when you’re busy, and allows you to automatically follow those who follow you.

A blog post by John Mariotti yesterday, stated that REAL business people don’t use (and won’t use) Social Media Marketing. The article goes on to provide 10 reasons why Mr Mariotti won’t use social media and whilst some of his points have merit, I was left quite flabbergasted as to his main reasonings.
An interesting point of view, that REAL business people don’t use social marketing. Really? In the offline world, I wonder what would you call Conventions, Seminars, business mixers and the like? Certainly, there is an aspect of social marketing there, isn’t there?

Twitter is probably my favourite communication tool. It is a social tool and is allows me to communicate with a wide group of friends, across the world. Even the 140 character limit for tweets doesn’t faze me, I have learned how to be succinct!
Today, I learnt of another tool in the Twitter tool kit that allows you to track a conversation about a particular topic. With all the conversations going on across Twitter, it can be hard to keep up with a conversation on one particular topic. By adding a hash tag (#name) to your Tweet, you can use Twemes.com to track the conversation, no longer how it goes for.

Today, I set up my new blog to test the effect of Twitter on Search Engine Rankings.
Just a quick recap - there has been discussion amongst a group of colleagues that suggests that Tweeting your links will help raise their rank in Googles Search Engine. This is on the premise that your Tweet (which contains your URL) will appear on all of your followers status pages, the more links to your site, the higher your Search Engine Ranking. Today, I had the privilege of interviewing Diane Corriette from the Womens Internetwork Marketing Alliance. Diane had so much to share with us. Please listen to the PodCast and enjoy the interview.
About Diane Corriette
Diane Corriette is a mother of 3 living in London England who has been self employed for the last 11 years. Two and a half years ago a back injury meant she could not work, which meant no income. Her insurance company refused to pay out and Diane was left wondering how to create an income for herself. A CD on making money online was the thing that started her career and she has spent the last two and a half years developing her business with the help of mentors. Now she runs the women internet marketers alliance, a trio of businesses established to support women who market their business online. Her aim is to raise the online visibility of women using an online magazine and provide women marketers with a space to learn, share, connect and network.

Social Networking is definitely the flavour of 2008 so far. With networks like ning.com offering you the opportunity to setup your own network, we are seeing an explosion of sites. Which is great - you get to network with like minded people, share information and hopefully grow your business.
I was invited to join a new Social Network the other day, which I did just out of curiosity. I like to feel and see something before I made a final decision. What I discovered was ZenZuu. Marketed as the upcoming social network, Zenzuu is giving 80% of its Global Advertising Revenue, to its members. A unique proposition.
