There are a lot of social networks and social bookmarking sites that you can use to “get the word out there”.
I am slowly expanding my connections and have finally organised most of my connections here. If you are on any of these networks, please feel free to add me to your community list and add your community names on a comment to this post.

Twitter is a fantastic tool. Twitter has been described as a micro blogging tool, but what does it mean and how can you use it?
With Twitter, you connect to a wider International community by sending, and reading, 140 character text messages. The question that your Twitter interface generally asks is “What are you doing now?” Take that question and respond with imagination.

A blog post by John Mariotti yesterday, stated that REAL business people don’t use (and won’t use) Social Media Marketing. The article goes on to provide 10 reasons why Mr Mariotti won’t use social media and whilst some of his points have merit, I was left quite flabbergasted as to his main reasonings.
An interesting point of view, that REAL business people don’t use social marketing. Really? In the offline world, I wonder what would you call Conventions, Seminars, business mixers and the like? Certainly, there is an aspect of social marketing there, isn’t there?

A couple of days ago I wrote about an experiement being conducted by Chris Lang about the effects of “shouting” your own posts on Digg. At the time of writing, Chris suspected that shouting your own posts to your Digg friends actually caused Google to derank your information and not list your posts in the natural search engines. However, that was conjecture at that time.

A few months ago, I posted about Web 2.0 and social networking. Yesterday, I received an email about Digg and how to use it. I figured, the best way to explain it, is to show it, so I started up Camtasia and recorded a presentation on how to use Digg to promote your sites.

Today, I had the privilege of interviewing Diane Corriette from the Womens Internetwork Marketing Alliance. Diane had so much to share with us. Please listen to the PodCast and enjoy the interview.
About Diane Corriette
Diane Corriette is a mother of 3 living in London England who has been self employed for the last 11 years. Two and a half years ago a back injury meant she could not work, which meant no income. Her insurance company refused to pay out and Diane was left wondering how to create an income for herself. A CD on making money online was the thing that started her career and she has spent the last two and a half years developing her business with the help of mentors. Now she runs the women internet marketers alliance, a trio of businesses established to support women who market their business online. Her aim is to raise the online visibility of women using an online magazine and provide women marketers with a space to learn, share, connect and network.

I “met” Diane Corriette online through the Womens Internet Marketing Social Network (part of the Womens Internet Marketing Alliance). Diane is a mother of 3 who makes her living from the Internet.
Over the last couple of months, Diane has impressed me with her approach to Internet Marketing and how she supports other marketers.
Diane released an EBook last week, in response to a number of requests for help that she had received. This EBook is not only in electronic printed format, Diane has taken the time to record it to an audio as well. There is no excuse for not “reading” it.

Social Networking is definitely the flavour of 2008 so far. With networks like ning.com offering you the opportunity to setup your own network, we are seeing an explosion of sites. Which is great - you get to network with like minded people, share information and hopefully grow your business.
I was invited to join a new Social Network the other day, which I did just out of curiosity. I like to feel and see something before I made a final decision. What I discovered was ZenZuu. Marketed as the upcoming social network, Zenzuu is giving 80% of its Global Advertising Revenue, to its members. A unique proposition.
